How to Configure a Email Account for Android (POP/IMAP)

Quick Manual Settings

Manually configure your mail client using the settings below:

RockN.host2- US - Houston (TX)
Secure SSL/TLS Settings
(Recommended)
Username: Full Email Address (email@yourname.com)
Password: Use the email account’s password.
Incoming Server: veracruz.websitewelcome.com
  • IMAP Port: 993
  • POP3 Port: 995
Outgoing Server: veracruz.websitewelcome.com
  • SMTP Port: 465
**Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP.

Non-SSL Settings
Username: Full Email Address (email@yourname.com)
Password: Use the email account’s password.
Incoming Server: mail.yourname.com
  • IMAP Port: 143
  • POP3 Port: 110
Outgoing Server: mail.yourname.com
  • SMTP Port: 587
**Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP.

Note:The above SSL settings are for our RockN.Host1 (Special & most Starter Plans) servers. If you do not know which server you are on Contact Support.

Secure SSL/TLS Settings

Username: Full Email Address (email@yourname.com)
Password: Use the email account’s password.
Incoming Server:

imap.dreamhost.com

  • IMAP Port: 993

 

pop.dreamhost.com

  • POP3 Port: 995
Outgoing Server: smtp.dreamhost.com
  • SMTP Port: 465
**Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP.

Non-SSL Settings
Username: Full Email Address (email@yourname.com)
Password: Use the email account’s password.
Incoming Server: mail.yourname.com
  • IMAP Port: 143
  • POP3 Port: 110
Outgoing Server: mail.yourname.com
  • SMTP Port: 587
**Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP.

Note:The above SSL settings are for our RockNspace1 (Business & Corporate Plans) servers. If you do not know which server you are on Contact Support.

Step By Step Instructions

How to add a full POP email account to your Android operating system using Galaxy S4 screenshots as a visual aid.

Step 1 -> Click Your Email Account Icon on your Home Screen

Step 2 -> Press Bottom Left Main Button (Next to Home Button) then click Settings in the List

Press Bottom Left Button then Settings


Step 3 -> Press Add account


Press Add account


Step 4 -> Input your Email account address and password

  • If this is your main email address then check "Send email from this account by default"

Step 5 -> Select Account Type:

  • POP (Post Office Protocol) will download email then delete it from server. Recommended when using 1 device to check email.
  • IMAP stores email on the server and is recommended for using multiple devices to check your email. Using Web Mail you can set up folders that all of your devices will recognize.

Step 6 -> Input POP (you use 1 device)/IMAP(you check multiple devices synchronized) (Incoming) Server address, Port and Security type (Settings should be provided to you by your Internet Host)

  • For POP3 or IMAP (Incoming) server do not enter http:// - just the actual server address (ex. mail.rocknspace.com)
  • IMAP | Port 143 (Insecure Transport - No SSL function enabled)
  • IMAP | Port 993 (Secure Transport   - SSL function enabled)
  • POP3 | Port 110 (Insecure Transport - No SSL function enabled)
  • POP3 | Port 995 (Secure Transport   - SSL function enabled)
  • For SSL email accounts (your choice) change Security Type to TLS/SSL and Port to appropriate port as listed above


Input POP3 (Incoming) Server address, Port and Security type


Step 7 ->  Input SMTP (Outgoing) Server, Port and Security type and check Require sign-in

  • For SMTP (Outgoing) server do not enter http:// - just the actual server address (ex. mail.rocknspace.com)
  • Leave Security type at none and change port to 587 regular email account with no SSL
  • For SSL email accounts change Security type to SSL or TLS and change port to 465
  • Make sure your Email address and password are inputed below Require sign-in checkbox

NOTE: IMPORTANT -> If you do not check Require sign-in on most servers you will not be able to send email (uses your password to verify that you can send mail)

Input SMTP (Outgoing) Server, Port and Security type


Step 8 -> Select when you want your phone/tablet to check for new mail, if you want your phone synced to the server, if this is your default email account and if you want to be notified when new mail arrives.

Input personal Email Check preferences


Step 9 -> Optionally you can change the Display Name (how it appears on your phone/tablet) and the name displayed on outgoing messages.

Then Click Done!


Name this Email Account (optional)
