Transfer domain names from DotRegistrar to RockNspace

Overview

Transfer Task 1: Verify that the domain name is eligible for transfer

• The domain name has been registered for at least 60 days, and has been at DotRegistrar for at least 60 days.
• The domain name is not in "client update prohibited" status.

Transfer Task 2: Confirm contact information

To update these contacts at DotRegistrar:

1. Log on to your account at Dotregistrar.com.
2. Click the domain name you want to transfer.
3. Click "Modify".
4. Scroll to the "Registrant" and/or "Admin Contact Info" section.
5. Update the Registrant and/or Administrative contact information if necessary.
6. Click "Save Changes for THIS Domain".

Transfer Task 3: Obtain the authorization code or retag the domain name

To transfer a .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .us, .name, .cn, .tw, .cc, or .in domain name, obtain the authorization code from DotRegistrar

1. Log on to your account at Dotregistrar.com.
2. Assign the authorization code using the "Domains to Transfer-Out" option.

To retag a .uk domain name:

• Contact DotRegistrar and ask them to retag the domain name to ISP tag RockNspace.
• Alternatively, you can retag/detag directly through Nominet, for a fee.
• When you transfer a .uk domain name, use the Auto verification transfer method.
• You can submit the transfer requests to RockNspace and DotRegistrar in any order.
• If you submit the transfer request to RockNspace first, you must submit the request to DotRegistrar within a week.
• If you submit the transfer request to DotRegistrar first, you must submit the request to RockNspace by the next 8th day of the calendar month.

Transfer Task 4: Unlock the domain

To unlock:

1. Log on to your account at Dotregistrar.com.
2. Clear the "Protect Your Domains" check box.

Transfer Task 5: Transfer the domain name to RockNspace

To transfer your domain name to RockNspace:

1.    Log on to your RockNspace account.

2.    Enter Domain, Captcha -> "Transfer".

3.    Enter the Authorization Code (EPP) if required, Check any Domain Options you wish to purchase.

4.    If everything is Correct then Click "Checkout".

5.    Fill in your details if you do not already have an account set up with RockNspace If you have an account Click to Login

6.    If you have a Promotional Code enter it and click "Update Cart"

7.    If everything is correct click "Complete Order"

8.    Pay for Domain Transfer using PayPal (Note: You can pay without having a PayPal account just click I do not have a PayPal account and then follow instructions to use - VISA,MC,AMEX or Discover)

9.    Then Click "Pay".

10.  When the domain name contacts receive email from RockNspace asking them to approve the transfer, do so by following the instructions in the email.

• Auto verification involves approving one domain per approval email; Fax involves assembling and faxing identity verification and a list of domains to transfer.
• Auto verification is generally easier for transferring small numbers of domains (a dozen or so; more if you don’t have convenient access to a fax machine); Fax is easier for transferring larger numbers of domains.
• Auto verification allows you to transfer domains with different Registrant and Admin contacts; Fax method requires the same Registrant and Admin contact information for all domains listed in the request.
• If you plan to transfer a large number of domains, but in separate requests, ask RockNspace’s transfer specialists to keep your proof of identity on file so you don’t have to resubmit it with every transfer request.
• Auto verification is the easiest method if you are transferring from a registrar that does not list Registrant or Administrative email addresses.
• For .uk and .ca names, always use the Auto verification method.
